ABOUT ME

MONICA CONVERSANO

Born in Rome, composer, singer and instrumentalist.

Her debut as a composer goes back on edition 1993 by Cantiere Internazionale d'Arte

di Montepulciano (Siena,Italy). It was followed by a first series of works for various organic, crowned in 1997 by an honorable mention with International Competition           for WomanComposer.

In 2008 she won the competition ' Framment / Azioni ' (Udine, IT )                                              with the electronic "Horse Dance".

She has been invited as composer in residence at VICC in Visby, Sweden (2011).

In 2011 won the international competition for composers BRUNO MADERNA 2011

with an orchestra and speaking voice work:                                                                                       " Calma assolata in un meriggio di prima estate"

performed in october 2011.

She teaches composition, recorder, and introductory music, in Italy, for many years, developing a teaching method of her own, with particular attention to the teaching of composition in the early sections of children school.

She published the collection "Percorsi Flautati",

first steps in the ensemble music for recorders and Orff percussions.

Edizioni Sconfinarte  (Treviso, IT ) published her last orchestral work:

" Calma assolata in un meriggio di prima estate".

Since 1997 she works in Italy and abroad with various opera and theatre companies,

composing musics and musicals plays for stage, and also sings and plays

with vocal and ensambles of ancient and contemporary music.

She conceived and edited in 2003 and 2004  for the  Department of Culture and Youth Policies  in the Province of Rome, the project entitled "Lo Scaffaletto Musicale”,                  in collaboration with the Provincial Library System or Rome.

She is creator, in 2002, of the traveling exhibition “ Le Farfalle non vivono nel ghetto”,

on the topic of childhood- denied (www.giallafarfalla.net).
